As a prominent and very active Democrat for the past 40 years, I was distraught when Jimmy Carter and the Democratic House and Senate gave our Panama Canal to Panama. We bought and paid for it with our money, sweat, blood, lives and American ingenuity. We had legal title to it and we earned it and owned it!

Now my party is planting a Trojan horse in Sacramento. Cruz Bustamante was an active party member of the MECHA, a group dedicated to Mexico taking back California and the other six Southwestern states they lost in the Mexican-American War. Does anyone think that our next potential governor has changed his mind?

To protect and perpetuate California, I’m voting for the most knowledgeable, capable and honorable Tom McClintock.
