Play to reveal effects of South American government operation on the family

Teatro de las Americas will open its production in Spanish with English super-titles of "Primavera Con Una Esquina Rota" (Spring with a Corner Torn) written by Mario Benedetti and ICTUS and directed by Alfonso Gordillo. The play offers an intimate look at the consequences on an Uruguayan family of the South American transgovernmental "Operation Condor" in the 1970s.

There will be 12 performances from Sept. 27 to Oct. 25, with shows at 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday and at 5 p.m. Sundays, Oct. 5, 12 and 19, at Petit Playhouse at Heritage Square, 730 S. "B" St., Oxnard. Tickets are $7-$10. For more information, please call (805) 485-5445, ext. 2.
