Soccer skills taught at camp

Local coaches Bill Propster and Frankie Marino will conduct soccer camps for ages 5-17 from June 16-20 and Aug. 4-8 on the Westlake High School campus, 100 N. Lakeview Canyon Road, Westlake Village. Propster is the boys’ soccer coach at the school and Marino is the girls’ soccer coach. They will be assisted by soccer-playing counselors from the school’s varsity teams.

It is Propster and Marino’s philosophy that young players learn best when having fun. The camp focuses on teaching fundamental skills and tactics while playing small-sided games.

For the youngest participants, creative play will blend with developing basic ball skills. A different skill is emphasized each day of the camp. Older, more experienced participants will receive technical and tactical instruction.

Cost is $95. For more information, please call (805) 376-1903.
