Summer musical program is accepting registration

Students entering grades one through eight in the fall are eligible to apply for "Pizazz 2003," a summer musical arts program sponsored by the music program of the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village, 1049 Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.

This year’s theme is "MusicWorldWide.com" (not an actual Web page) and will highlight musical styles from countries around the world.

The program is offered Aug. 11-15 from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Mon.-Thurs. and 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. celebration performance for participants’ parents and friends. Extended day care is offered for an additional fee.

Tuition, which includes a $20 non-refundable application fee, is $100, with a $5 discount given for additional children in the same family. The cost is $10 less if application and full payment are received by Sun., June 1.

Celebrating its 11th year, Pizazz emphasizes the joy of music through a variety of musical experiences in a non-religious arts curriculum. The staff uses singing, handbell and choir chime ringing, choreographed movement and music enrichment to make the week "an exciting adventure."
