What will the future hold In response to Judy St. John’s letter to the editor in a recent edition of the Thousand Oaks Acorn, she says we should re-elect Andy Fox because he approved development deals resulting in public open space reminded me of Maria Vanderkolk. Maria was elected a Ventura County supervisor on a platform to save Ahmanson Ranch. Then she approved the building of a city on Ahmanson Ranch in exchange for rugged hillsides of open space paid for with our tax dollars. Then she left town. Now we have Ahmanson’s paid lobbyist, Steve Weston, hiring the district attorney (retiring District Attorney Michael Bradbury) and Weston’s attorneys pumping money into the political campaigns of Fox, Del Campo, Gillette and Hoffman. One can only wonder what the next open space deal will be if these guys are elected. Lorraine Slattery Newbury Park |
