Believes the best fiction around is current campaign donation statements The most interesting reading in Thousand Oaks right now is Andy Fox’s 460 Campaign discloser report. Across the top of every page is the typed phrase, "No developer contributions," but close inspection shows this is a lie. There are contributions from Cornell Ranch LLC, Selleck Properties, Hogan Family Fund, Rick Principe, Dale Ortmann and Cal Johnston. All of these contributors have had project before the City Council. Fox has voted for those projects. I would cite this as developer influence. The three incumbents all took money from the car dealers: Fox $7,050, Del Campo, $2,750 and Gillette, $1,450. Could the contributions have anything to do with the car dealers wanting the city, you and me, to pay for the construction of a parking structure for their employees? Examining Mr. Fox’s 460 shows that he is also very well liked by real estate agents, CPAs, banks and financial advisors, to name a few. Mr. Fox has collected $78,000, about $40,000 more than the next nearest candidate. Mr. Fox also campaigns constantly with his charity fund, which is supported by the same people who give to his campaign. Mr. Fox’s financial support comes from people who are dedicated, for financial reasons, to making Thousand Oaks grow as much as possible. Mr. Fox has sold out. His campaign finance report is documentation of who he has sold out to. We need to be represented by people who do not accept special interest money. We need to vote for Michael Farris, Claudia Bell-de la Peña, Laura Lee Custodio and Bob Wilson. Thousand Oaks residents are their only special interest. Roger Meade Thousand Oaks |
