Can we believe the current council majority Our current council majority has told us that growth is no longer an issue in the Conejo Valley. But strangely, their large signs claim that they too are slow growth and will protect our future. So, who do we believe? The voting records of the three incumbent council members speak for themselves, and so does their endorsement of Hoffman, who was soundly defeated by slow-growth advocate Linda Parks. I was there the evening that they canned two of our planning commissioners for doing their jobs by questioning the zoning boundaries near Dos Vientos. Without reason given or legal foundation, Gillette, Fox and Del Campo all voted to remove planning commissioners who questioned their authority. I had never seen such arrogance or lack of civility in a council majority. I hope that their hubris will not be forgotten. Remind the council incumbents that they are in office at the pleasure of the residents of this community and not the businesses or developers that support their campaigns. Please vote for the Certified Slow Growth team of Farris, Custodio, Bill-de la Peña and Wilson William Maple Newbury Park |
