Just one peak tells the whole story It would take only a quick inspection of the voting records of Andy Fox, Dan Del Campo and Dennis Gillette to give lie to their touted "slow growth" stance. They use this slogan as just that, a slogan only. The sweeping victories in the previous council election of Edward Masry and Linda Parks, true slow-growth advocates, made them realize that this is what Thousand Oaks citizens truly want. Being savvy politicians, they stole the slow-growth motto and use it only to maintain their status as elected public officials. In reality, Fox, Del Campo and Gillette have helped to figuratively and literally pave the way for developers to replace the beauty of open space with asphalt, concrete and stucco. They should all move to the San Fernando Valley where their desire for this type of environment can be completely fulfilled. It is not words but actions that count. Gerry Williams Thousand Oaks |
