Programs on tap at library
Among the upcoming programs in November at the Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, are the following:

For youth ages 12-18: A special workshop, "Cartooning: The Art of Anime," will be presented at 7 p.m. Tues., Nov. 5. Participants will learn to draw some of their favorite cartoon characters, beginning with simple geometric shapes and lines, then adding expression, movement and personality. No previous cartooning or drawing experience is necessary.

For youth ages 12-18: A special program, "Writing Careers in the Entertainment Industry," will be presented at 7 p.m. Tues., Nov. 12. Those who are interested in writing careers will discover what the entertainment industry can offer them. Opportunities exist in writing for television sitcoms, movies, animated programs, commercials, documentaries and more.

"Literary Criticism" is a program designed for students of literature, members of book discussion groups or anyone interested in literary research. It will be presented from 7-8:30 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 7. Participants will discover the rich collection of literary research materials available at the library. Librarians will demonstrate the use of both printed and electronic resources to locate literary criticism, analyses, synopses, reviews, author biographies and more.
